Harvest 3 Review Short Version: You might think when you heard about A.J. Lieberman and Colin Lorimer’s Harvest from Image Comics that it would be a sort of slow-building drama. It may be dramatic, but there’s nothing slow in Harvest 2. Dr. Dane is offered the chance to return to work as a surgeon in an underground organ transplant operation and things unfold at a rapid pace from there. Harvest is a book that is firing on all cylinders early in its run and if you’re at all interested in the subject (gritty and dark as it is), you should probably go ahead and look into getting in now.

Harvest 3 Review
Harvest 3 is where things really start to get real in a series that has already been pretty gritty. It’s where Dr. Dane starts to turn the tables a little, at least for the moment. Dane has decided that he doesn’t approve of the organ-stealing ways of his recent employer and wants to put a stop to their practice. Believe it or not, this does not ingratiate Dr. Dane to these very dangerous criminals in Harvest 3. That being the case, Dr. Dane turns to where he is owed a favor. Harvest 3 is another great issue in what has been an incredibly enjoyable series so far. Harvest 3 is tense throughout, well-written and extremely well realized. And it made me think, which is more than I can see for most things that I read. Harvest is a series you really should be reading. It’s a great series that asks a lot of tough questions about what people are willing to do and who is in the right.

So, I’d like to hear your thoughts about Dr. Dane’ s decision to take the stolen organs back at the end of Harvest 3. I don’t have a problem with it being a little macabre, but I’m not sure that I’m entirely on board with his actions. I mean, I know these are – theoretically – bad people that received these organs, but I’m not sure that taking them back is just. And maybe it’s not supposed to be. Maybe that’s the point. Or maybe Lieberman has something else up his sleeve when we get to the next issue of Harvest and it’s a tease at the end of the issue. Questions like this is a big part of why I’m such a big fan of the series.
So, after checking out the Harvest 3 review, I’d love it if you would share your thoughts if you’ve checked out the series, or what your other favorite new series are.
