There’s a good possibility that you saw Dave Chalker’s Get Bit! on a little web show called Tabletop starring one Wil Wheaton. If you haven’t, and you want a better idea of what Get Bit! is all about, there’s a good chance that episode is your best source, since you actually get to see the game play out. With that said, I will continue using my words.
Dave Chalker’s Get Bit! is a card game where you try to optimize your hand usage to be the lowest card as little as possible. Of course, this also means that you need to optimize how you use your low cards (as well as when you choose to use your high ones). The game is built around a fair amount of bluffing and is a lightweight game where your bad luck ends with a very real result: you have a little robot (pirate in the new edition) who has an appendage torn off by a shark (who is also represented by a small figure on the table). The addition of the figures looks like it would make it all that much more personal. Well, MayDay Games (which publishes Get Bit!) has turned to Kickstarter in order to produce a deluxe version of the game that features new card art, more detailed figures, a new metal case, and a new instruction manual that includes two and three player variants. If you’re interested in Get Bit! Deluxe Tin Box Set, you can check out the Kickstarter page for more information.
