Detective Grimoire is a nice looking mystery adventure game for tablets from @SFBDim and @SFBTom

I mean it, Detective Grimoire (trailer found above) is freakin’ gorgeous. If you’ve been following the site for any length of time you know that I’m a big fan of adventure games. Well, SFB Games have launched a Kickstarter in order to try and fund Detective Grimoire, which they bill as a mystery adventure game. The animation from what appears to be the cut scenes is very nice looking and has style, something that is sorely lacking from too many games. Instead of going with the old SCUMM-style graphics, SFB has gone with something more modern and I have to say that I dig it. The trailer also shows a few glimpses of puzzles in the game as well as the interface. The voice acting sounds solid and a copy of the game for iOS or Android is only $4 through Kickstarter. It looks like the adventuring portions will be handled a la Myst, where you click on arrows showing the various exits from a given screen, which sounds like a good way to go on a tablet. The interrogation system looks interesting as well. If you’re a fan of adventure games, definitely go over to Kickstarter and check out the game, which is slated for release in August, 2012.
