If you look at nothing else today watch the trailer for Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph, a video game movie made good

The trailer for Wreck-It Ralph is embedded above. Before you do anything else watch it. I mean it. Are you back? Great. Wreck-It Ralph stars John C. Reilly as the villain of an old arcade game that appears to be a mash-up between Donkey Kong and Rampage. When he gets tired of being a villain, Ralph tries to get into the world of modern video games. The cameos alone (which include Zangief, M. Bison, Q*Bert, Kano, Bowser, Eggman/Dr. Robotnik, and more) look like they will make Wreck-It Ralph worth seeing. It is also a very nice looking film and looks to have a solid sense of humor about it, so that is a plus too. The  allegory for the aging of those of us that grew up with the games of the mid-80’s is pretty apparent and definitely of us that grew up with video games as kids but are now starting to get older. Wreck-It Ralph’s release date is November 2, 2012.
