Comic News: Atomic Robo And The Flying She-Devils Of The Pacific, Chew: Poyo One-Shot, Comixology Mouse Guard Sale
Atomic Robo and the Flying She-Devils of the Pacific, the seventh volume of the much-loved picture book series Atomic Robo (natch) by Red 5 Comics, will be released on June 20, 2012, according to a tweet Brian Clevinger who, you know, writes it. Not much up on the official page, but you can see the rather sharp-looking cover over at Midtown Comics.
In other comic book news Bleeding Cool is showing off the cover (and the San Diego Comic Con alternate) for the Secret Agent Poyo one shot of John Layman’s Chew, which is one of my favorite on-goings (although I admit that it took me some getting past when I first bit into it. Sorry.) Somehow I did not know how this was going to happen. How did you all not tell me this? In case you are curious, Poyo is described by Image Comics as “comics’ most beloved homicidal cybernetic kung-fu rooster”. If that doesn’t sell you a comic, I don’t know what will. The Secret Agent Poyo one-shot flies the coop (sorry) on July 11, 2012.
If you haven’t read Mouse Guard by David Petersen, I can almost forgive you for not own the rather-gorgeous hardback editions (almost) since you can get the first two collected editions (At six issues each) for a paltry $4.99 each on Comixology right now, as well as the Legends of the Guard mini-series for $3.99). I hate to say this, because I like you, but not reading Mouse Guard makes you a bad person. An objectively bad person. The first issue is free, so you should at least try that. Because it is magical.
